So lots of ideas recently I guess. I’m the sort who does get distracted easily, has a lot of interests and follows them as interested but hardly ever to completion. So not really a lot of ideas recently so much as all the time and it’s interesting what I’m doing and what I actually get out here.
Today was busy and yet not. It was first a slow slow depressed start. I just couldn’t get going. It was one of those mornings where I felt asleep but not. What felt like I was closing and unclosing my eyes was actually like hours in between. First at 7 and then maybe hourly till I realized it was going on 2PM and I usually aim to walk Gwen by 1PM.
Anyway… not sure where I was headed with that last paragraph– I saved a draft and I’m picking this up the next morning. Managed to get up decently early and have a few hours before I have to walk Gwen. The impetus to a post here was my drone which I hadn’t thought about since last June but did this week with the Mayflower II passing through the Cape Cod Canal this week. Looked into it and found that the canal is actually mil jurisdiction and a complete no-UAS flyzone.
I bought my drone on a whim last summer while on vacation and used it for several hours for a few weeks and then set it aside after returning home and hadn’t been interested since till I had that canal thought. Well part of the whim was the thought that it might be useful to have a part 107 license for anything beyond recreational flight so I researched a bit and settled on the Pilot Institute. They offer many free courses so that you can learn to fly recreationally and legally, which was my initial immediate goal.
Life moves on and I’ve yet to fly locally. Over the past near year since I got home early summer I’ve mainly been doing
